TIM MARTIN, LPCC

Tim Martin, MA, MTS, LPCC is a mindfulness instructor, executive coach, and professional clinical mental health counselor (LPCC) in the state of New Mexico. He holds a M.T.S from Harvard Divinity School and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hawaii.

As a leadership development consultant, he has worked with executives from companies like Google Fiber and Lincoln International while at Contemplative Leadership Development and Advanced Education Institute. As a therapist, he has served clients at agencies like Taos Behavioral Health, Shadow Mountain Recovery, On Track Hawaii, and Hawaii State Hospital. Prior to private practice, he was the Director of Outpatient Services at Taos Behavioral Health.

He possesses over 15 years of experience as a mindfulness instructor and meditator in the Buddhist tradition. He has completed retreat, travelled extensively, and continued studies with meditation teachers throughout India and Nepal. He spent his graduate studies with pioneers in the mindfulness field such as Dr. Ellen Langer, Dr. Zev Schuman-Olivier, and Dr. Akihiko Masuda. While at Harvard University, he was lead author on the first research study to measure the psychological effects of a Tibetan Medicine remedy. His master’s research focused on the application of mindfulness for the reduction of bias and stigma.

He has published multiple research papers, given talks, and led groups in the fields of mindfulness and alternative medicine. His psychotherapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based interventions. He is also a happy husband, dad, and musician. He loves working with motivated individuals to realize their full potential.
